Howdy!
Stop 3: Newport, Oregon
We stayed right in the marina, watching the fishing boats go by.
The Rogue Brewery is also in the marina, just walking distance away. Lucky for Dad! (and me)
Just over the bridge is the Newport Bayfront and Harbor District.
I stood on the docks and looked down to watch the sea lions barking away, boy are they loud! I barked right back but they didn't pay any attention to me.
One of Dad's favorite restaurants on the bayfront is Local Ocean Seafood, not to be missed!
The next day we took a drive north and stopped to see the Yaquina Head Lighthouse
Stop 4: Tillamook
We stayed at the Elks RV Park, lots of grass for me!
After setting up we drove to a local fish market in Garibaldi and bought 2 pounds of clams and 8 ounces of fresh crab meat. Mom made us steamed clams and crab cakes, delicious!
The next day we drove south to Pacific City, famous for the dory boats that are launched directly into the surf.
On our last day in Tillamook, mom made us a picnic lunch and we took off for Cannon Beach. We went to Ecola State Park and found a table with an incredible view of the coastline.
On our way home we stopped to see another Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach
and the Twin Rocks in Rockaway Beach
Astoria is a charming small town located on the Columbia River
Dad hates bridges as was glad he was driving the car and not our motorhome when we crossed the long, long bridge into Washington.
Two of the days we were there it was rather gloomy, but the last day was perfect so we went to see the Astoria Colum
and enjoy the panoramic views.
That's all for now, we are heading inland now.
Adios,
Brody
