Upstate New York - So Green!

Wow, I was amazed, as were mom and dad at the incredible beauty of this area. We went to visit mom's cousin, Becky and Jim Park's  in Webster, NY, very close to Lake Ontario. We parked our RV in their driveway, and stayed in their house. We were all impressed with the open space and greenery in the area.

One day we toured parts of Lake Ontario. The homes along the lake were spectacular. I even heard mom and dad talking about how they would love to have a summer house here, but that probably won't happen.

and the city of Rochester, the home of George Eastman and Kodak and the High Falls Historic District, check out the falls below.

We went to lunch and to our surprise ran into Becky's daughter, Jenny and her friends so we joined them at their table.

After lunch we visited a beautiful garden, the lilacs were just starting to bloom. So many beautiful flowering trees. Look at Dad and me!

The next day we visited Dick and Nancy, friends that mom and dad had meet on their trip to Egypt last fall. They left me in the fenced in pool area to catch some Zzz,s while they went out to lunch on the Erie Canal and visit the George Eastman house. It was really good to see them.

Mom, Dada, Becky and Jim went to dinner at a beautiful restaurant, right on Lake Ontario, watching the sunset set before having dinner.

On Saturday, they actually LEFT me in Becky's garage while they  went off wine tasting on Keuka Lake, one of the Finger Lakes. They visited four wineries and mom and dad were totally impressed with the wines - white and red. Dad, who is not a white wine enthusiast actually really liked them - many wining awards throughout out CA contestants. The area is know for its dry Rieslings - and they all  liked them!

The last night the kids, Jenny and Jimmy came over to see us and have dinner. What a wonderful ending to our visit. We had a fantastic time with the Parks!

Adios,
Yuki
