Beautiful Savannah

Greetings,
I'm here in Savannah just chilling with my new friend. Savannah is a city with so much natural beauty. Lots of gorgeous  trees that I liked to pay personal homage to, (if you get my drift)

The historic district is laid out in a grid with  beautiful squares with statues and fountains

and the gold leaf city hall.

We walked through the old Colonial Park cemetery, the final resting place for Savannahians who died between 1750 and 1853.

So many beautiful churches

and homes line the streets.

Mom came here with her Girl Scout troop in the 1960's to visit Juliette Gordon Lows birthplace and the headquarters of the Girl Scouts.
We saw the home where General Sherman was headquartered from 1864-1865.

as well as the Owens- Thomas house where the Marquis de Lafayette stayed when he visited in 1825
and the balcony where he addressed the populace.

The historic waterfront, with old buildings

riverboats

and the very touristy area of the waterfront.

As we walked around the city, Dad saw this banner and thought they were giving out free Georgia ice tea....
but soon found out there were selling something else, so he headed for the World of Beers for a liquid refreshment break. He had a hard time making a choice!
We spent our last day on Hilton Head, relaxing before we head to Charleston.

Adios,
Yuki
